Getting Lost

April 30th 2010:

It was late April and I was itching to get out in to the woods. I had spent most for the previous summer outside but the winter had me all pent up.  So my friend, the  Professional Safari Boat Driver and I  headed out on to Middle  Saranac Lake at about 9;30 pm Friday night. There was not a star to be seen and definitely no moonlight to help us find our island destination.  Luckily I brought Mr. gps and we landed safely on Shaw Island.

I spent most of the night chopping firewood while my driver chatted on the phone, but soon it would be my turn to play.  After a dinner of take out pizza and a few shots of mexican tequila fresh from over the boarder, my driver fell asleep and I was left with just my camera and guitar.

The next morning we would head up the channel towards the locks that separate Lower and Middle Saranac. The reflections along the channel paired with some wild life made this a bow burning extravaganza.

The next night I went out to take more photogtraphs again because the village of Lake Placid was encased in a cloud and I couldn’t resist all the spooky lighting.
