Whiteface Toll Road - Skiing the Scar
Whiteface Toll Road – Skiing the Scar

It was a late decision to head out, but I had all the time in the world to complete what I wanted to do. Ski up the toll road for some night shots then take a nap after sunrise then hit the summit when the clouds cleared. It was a calm night and even better morning. By the time I had gotten out of my tent it was almost 65 degrees inside the tent. I had never seen the snow piled so high on the stairs going up. I spent the better part of the day on the summit. I had been starring at the South facing Scar just off the summit for about 15 min and thinking it looks so nice right now and It should be skied but I was alone and heading back the other direction. Then out of nowhere a Local Guide and three others crest the ridge and head right for the Scar. I didn’t have the best angle on them but the jump turns were flowing as they disappeared…… into the Scar! ahhaha
