Lower Saranac Lake Unidentified Floater
12 years, 5 months ago Posted in: Behind the Lens 0

Paddling today on Lower Saranac Lake I found a strange item in the water. It was of many different aspects, parts were white almost sponge like material, and other seemed to be vein, or just pine needles claimed by the organism.  It was not stiff like a tree but when picked up it bent a little bit.  It was solid from end to end but when a piece broke off the middle was hollow and had pine needles inside….  It was white ish when i pulled it out and the the air made the brown spots increase and soon took over turned it a darker shade.??????

15 min later… ITs a Bull head waterlily. gotta love the speed of information!
